Meet Dr. Starr

Dr. Austin Starr was born and raised in Logansport, IN where he has fond childhood memories. He was brought up with a multitude of interests including a passion for excellence, overcoming adversity and always having fun. In 2004 he came to Bloomington, IN where his life would be changed forever. Starr walked on to the Indiana University Football team as a placekicker and had the great fortune of developing alongside the best coaches and teammates in the country.

He graduated with Highest Distinction in 2008 and earned many accolades on and off the field during his college career. Starr proudly credits Indiana University’s athletic personnel and academic departments with providing incomparable support and instilling the strong qualities and characteristics he emulates today.

After training for the NFL in 2009 he continued his journey to the IU School of Dentistry where his personality and passion for excellence motivated him to graduate in the top ten of his class with High Honors in 2014. Dr. Starr’s desire to positively impact patients on a profound level while collaborating with medical and dental professionals lead to his pursuit of additional training past dental school.

He stayed in the Big Ten to complete his 4-year Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Residency at The Ohio State University in 2018. During this time Dr. Starr went through rigorous training to gain specialized experience and expertise to treat a wide range of oral and facial anomalies. He has the most up-to-date surgical skill and knowledge to provide you with the highest quality of care and improve your quality of life. 

The charm of Bloomington and his first-class experience at IU drew him back to serve the community who gave so much love and support. Dr. Starr and his family are excited to be back in Bloomington and serve in a community they will forever call home!
